ASIA ，一个名字响亮的乐队 ，在前卫摇滚进入八零年代后逐渐衰微，而ASIA是唯一在市场引起注意的团体。
他们在八二年第一张同名专辑，全世界就卖了九百万张，是当年美国的冠军专辑 。ASIA的主唱兼贝司手是John Wetton，他在许多团都待过，其中包括鼎鼎大名的KING GRIMSON。鼓手是Carl Palmer，原来是名团ELP的P。吉他手Steve Howe和键盘手Geoffery Downes来自解散后的YES。每个成员都是前卫摇滚界明星级的人物，所以合作的音乐应该也是前卫摇滚吧！
Asia, 80年代在英国出现的一支摇滚乐队， 可谓超级组合。乐队成员深受70年代英国前卫摇滚的影响， 并且四位原始成员在组建Asia以前，都是当时经典的前卫摇滚乐队的成员， 例如Yes， King Crimson， Roxy Music等等。并且继承发扬了这一曲风，影响十分大。
乐队经历了大量人员变动， 近年又开始活跃。 最新专辑是2008年4uye发行的专辑“Phoenix”。
